Amongst Lafiagi socio-cultural heritage is the chewuru festival. It is an annual celebration where people of lafiagi and its environs come together from far and near to celebrate the event that witness along of activities notably; entertainment at chewuru ferry port, river Niger and most interestingly, swimming competitions.
At the festival, various villages come with different form of canoe and local ships to celebrate at the chewuru ferry port to make the event colorful.
